Solvang, CA - Every year, a small band of women gather in Santa Ynez Valley to prepare packing boxes for most-needed items for our troops. This is a simple way you can help - by chipping in a few hours to help pack - or donate a few needed items. This coming Wednesday, the 28th of October, 2009, the Women of the Santa Ynez Valley Support The Troops Asociation will be packing boxes to be sent to the men and women that serve us in remote locations of Iraq and Afghanistan. The items most requested are for personal hygiene, snacks that can be carried and eaten while on the move, socks, moisturizers, sports magazines and always, international calling cards.
Anyone who would like to make a small donation of your time on packing day are welcome. The group meets at 1pm at the Women's Club on 533 Atterdag in Solvang.
For more information on the Santa Ynez Valley Support the Troops Association, visit the website at: www.supportsoldiers.us, or call Pat Sullivan at 805-688-8404. This is a great way to make a big difference with little effort!
