Solvang, CA - The City of Solvang, as an extension of its "Taste of Solvang" has organized a picnic of the original European style: a long blanket about 100 yards long in Solvang Park (1st Street and Mission Drive). The Price is FREE ! COME HAVE A GOOD TIME FOR EVERYONE !
Starting at Noon on Sunday, June 13, there will be music by Country/Folk Singer and Guitarist Owen Johnston, followed by a 2-hour performance by the Valley Wind Ensemble.
According to Event Coordinator Mary Harris, “We encourage residents and visitors alike to purchase picnic ingredients available at manylocal markets or box lunches/take-out at local restaurants, come to Solvang Park, relax and enjoy the afternoon."
"Picnic cloths for public events are popular in Europe, so we're bringing the tradition to Solvang for this event. Originally scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2009 and postponed due to unseasonable rain, this first-ever BYO Picnic is part of the annual Taste of Solvang Food & Wine Festival."
