Los Olivos, CA - Like asparagus, fine wine, and grandchildren, some things are well worth waiting for - and this is one of them. "Peter Feldmann and the Very Lonesome Boys" will be performing at the Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall in Los Olivos on January 27th at 8 PM.

The band features Tommy Marton (fiddle), Tom Lee (bass), Peter Feldmann (mandolin), Mike Nadolson (guitar), and David West (banjo). The beginning of 2007 marks the start of their tenth year performing traditional bluegrass.

A kingpin of bluegrass music on the Central Coast (and Santa Ynez resident), Peter imported the nascent "Topanga Banjo/Fiddle Contest" from Los Angeles to UCSB in 1970, and it runs to this day as the "Santa Barbara Old Time Fiddlers Convention", held the second Sunday of October. In its 36th year, it's considered one of the musical highlights on the Central Coast.

The program will include bluegrass standards, songs of the West, and a number of 1920s-1930s country songs adapted to the bluegrass format.

Advance tickets, priced at $12.50, are available on-line now at bluegrasswest.com and at Jensen's Music in Solvang. If available, tickets will be sold at the door for $15.00 beginning at 7:30 PM. Seating is limited, so plan on getting your tickets soon.
