Santa Ynez Valley, CA -
You can easily observe the ISS (and the attached shuttle orbiter Columbia in its STS-121 mission) from the Santa Ynez Valley. [Click HERE for the current fly-over schedule].
This is usually viewed after 9PM, and can be seen with the naked eye. (With the help of binoculars you can even make out the details of Columbia and the huge space station.) The ISS/Columbia pass over the Valley sky in a period of about two minutes.
Special thanks to Jim Heck for this contribution.
