Solvang, CA - This year has been marked by lots of short, drizzly storms - with a total rainfall approaching 13 inches. That's only about 90% of the "normal" rainfall for Santa Ynez of 14.1".The total rain (since last Sept. 1) for the current "Water Year" is viewable on the syv-online.com website under the Graphic Images section - as measured by the website weather station and labeled "Total Rain". (Click your "Reload" button to get the latest update if you've been to this site recently.)
As a matter of comparison, the 1998/1998 (El Niņo) season sported 47 inches of downpour.
For details on Santa Barbara County rainfall, see: SB Hydrology Report.
