Ari Petersen, president of the Solvang Chamber of Commerce, made an impassioned plea for Santa Ynez Valley residents to attend the Solvang City Council meeting on Monday, April 12.The City Council will be listening to a presentation by Chamber Board Member Sherrie Fitzgerald, Director of Sales and Marketing of the Alisal Guest Ranch, on how to continue increased marketing of Solvang as a tourist destination.
The Chamber board is confident that the City Council recognizes the need to continue to promote Solvang because of the significant fiscal impact it has on the overall community. This issue has come to a priority with the recent announcement of the retirement of Mrs. Jackie Traylor, who has lead the SCVB for nearly the past ten years. The Chamber is also confident the City Council and the Board of the SCVB will recognize the importance of filling Jackie's position with the proper person and funding.
All are welcome to attend and provide support relating to the future of Solvang as a tourist destination. The meeting will be held at the City Council chambers at the corner of 2nd and Oak Streets in Solvang at 7 PM on Monday, April 12.
