Art on the Wild Side

Wildling crafts for kids 6-12 in Los Olivos The Wildling Art Museum will be offering “Art on the Wild Side” craft classes in the Museum’s Education Center most Saturday mornings beginning March 13 through the end of October.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., each hour-long class will focus on completing one craft and is geared toward ages 6-12 years of age (kids under 6 must be accompanied by an adult). The class is limited to 10 and registration is recommended. The fee for each class is $5.00 or participants can purchase a punch card of 10 classes for $40.00.

Elaine's Apricot and Peach Fried Pies

 Apricot and peach fried pies have the best flavor of any fried pie I've ever eaten. My family loves these great pies. My grandmother made these up years ago. I have made this delicious fried pie for over 40 years. Shortening may be used in place of oil. These pies are great for picnics and BBQ's. They are easy for travel and taste great the next day.

4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup shortening
1 cup milk
8 ounces dried apricots
1 (6 ounce) package dried peaches
3/4 cup white sugar
2 cups vegetable oil for frying
